You may have seen me talking about affirmations in other blog posts or over on my Instagram . This is not a new idea for me, but I have recently implemented it much more in my life.
When I was in high school, I was introduced to The Secret . This message is shared through film, books and multi-media. It is all about the law of attraction. Basically, that focusing on positive things will bring positive things. I don’t want to go super in depth with this- but I HIGHLY recommend doing your own research on this and implementing it into your own life.
Along the same lines, I discovered affirmations and the power of telling them to myself daily. If you aren’t familiar with affirmations, they are positive reminders or statements that can be used to encourage others or yourself. For a lot of people, giving positive affirmations to others is a lot easier- but I am here to encourage you to try it on yourself!
Unfortunately, for a period of time I stepped away from this thought process. This is also when my mental and physical health began to struggle. I was anxious all the time and it was ruining the quality of my life. As I work to get my mental-health back on track, I have started practicing daily affirmations again.
HOW TO USE AFFIRMATIONS
This is where you will have to find what will work best for you. For me, I have a few affirmations that I say daily to myself in the mirror while getting ready for the day. I have one written where I can read it throughout the day at work and I also have one saved as my background on my phone- to serve as a reminder there as well.
The most important part is choosing affirmations that really resonate with you. It won’t benefit you to repeat something that you don’t feel and believe. Your energy has a huge impact on this. My daily affirmations include some on this list below, but I have also added some that may resonate more with you!
